History

"Lipton's Seat is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Sri Lanka. It is located in the hills near the town of Haputale in the Uva Province. The place is famous for its amazing views, cool climate, and vast tea plantations." Lipton's Seat is named after Sir Thomas Lipton, who started Lipton Tea. Over 100 years ago, he owned many tea estates in this area. He often came to this place to look at his tea fields and check his work. Because he liked to sit here and enjoy the view, the place was named "Lipton's Seat."
